Инспектор Гаджет - первый в мире «механический» полицейский. Он экипирован огромным количеством технических приспособлений, которые должны помогать в его нескончаемой борьбе против преступлений. Но обычно получается, что эти приспособления наносят вред самому полицейскому, а не врагам.

Зная о неуклюжести инспектора, все бандиты и воры опасаются за свои жизни, когда перед ними возникает инспектор Гаджет. И даже его заклятый враг, злой доктор Коготь, немного нервничает. Но, благодаря помощи племянницы Гаджета, Пенни, и преданного пса Брейна, удача каждый раз оказывается на стороне нашего героя.
